Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions about Our Services

We’re a unique collision repair shop, which means many people have questions about our services. Additionally, for most drivers an accident is a rare experience, so dealing with insurance companies and choosing a collision repair shop may be unfamiliar territory. With this in mind, here are some answers to questions we’re frequently asked at Peotter’s Auto Body.

Q: Do you take credit cards?

A: No, we accept personal checks, credit card checks, and cash as forms of payment.

Q: How long will it take to repair my vehicle?

A: Depending on the extent of damage to your vehicle, we will give you an estimated time frame that will be necessary to properly repair your vehicle back to factory standards.

Q: How do I rent a car?

A: We work with local rental car facilities, and will coordinate the details of a rental vehicle for you prior to the drop off date for your repairs.

Q: Will my vehicle be good as new?

A: We take the time and attention necessary to ensure your vehicle is returned to the required factory standards that existed prior to your accident.

Q: When does the insurance company “total” a vehicle?

A: Depending on your insurance carrier, there are different standards, but generally, a car is totaled when the cost of repairs exceed the current cash value of that vehicle. This determination is ultimately made by your insurance carrier.

Q: Do you work with different insurance companies?

A: Yes, we work with all insurance companies from the beginning of your repairs until the completion of your claim. By law, in the State of New Jersey, you are entitled to choose the repair facility where your vehicle will be repaired, even if it is not in your insurance company's "preferred network." Many carriers suggest or recommend certain shops; however, this does not mean you have to take your vehicle where they chose. Whether you are having your vehicle repaired through your insurance carrier, or you are the claimant with another carrier, you have the legal right and privilege to bring your vehicle to the shop of your choice. We take pride in negotiating all forms of insurance claims, with all carriers, to ensure your vehicle is repaired properly, and that the repair is fully covered and compensated for by the carrier.
